A Day at the Lake

Life in Idaho is unique in so many ways. We are lucky to be able to share the summer with the other residents that make their home here.

A hummingbird made a nest on a old chain that hung down from the upper deck of the cabin. Two small eggs occupied the nest. Then before we knew it there were a couple of baby hummingbird chicks in the nest.

A mother grebe and baby cruise the lake.

A wren made it's home in our birdhouse on the porch.

Pottery Bird Houses for My Feathered Friends

The garden needed some birdhouses, so I sculpted a couple.

The top 2 photos are prior to firing and when the clay was still wet. I have to admit I didn't make the birds. Everything else was hand built.

Springtime in the Northwest

The honeybees are flying and the flowers are blooming. It's so wonderful that Spring is finally here. The bees didn't seem to care about landing on the miniature daffodil, but did seem happy land on me and hang out. But finally one landed on the flower and I got one frame off.  I think it sums up Springtime in the Northwest.
